‍Preferably comfortable, smooth-soled leather or plastic.  Avoid rubber as they are a bit grippy - though you can put duct tape on the bottom to make more slide.

‍Lindy is a social dance, so it is common to dance with a bunch of different partners. 
My experience is that swing dancing is a very friendly culture where both leads and followers ask. 
People just want to have fun, so don’t fret you if can’t dance perfectly.  The more you practice, the easier it gets!

‍The skills you learn here can be used around the world.  There are swing dance groups in most cities.  Adelaide held a Lindy Exchange in January this year, with dancers coming from across Australia.  There are several dance classes around the city centre too!
